Challenge Yourself?!

We see it happen all the time! These people on Television, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat making life changes and making it look so easy. They say if you “just eat this” , “drink this”, or “use this machine” your life long struggle with your health and weight will change.

In some cases, these products will do exactly what they promised. You’ll lose weight, Become more active and consequently more health conscious. But, the major keys missed by the naked eye are the hours of hard work that goes along with these products before and after pictures. The products are made to improve and increase the results of your hard work.

When deciding to make a change my best advice is to challenge yourself. Don’t simply tell yourself “let’s lose 10 pounds!” , but challenge yourself to improve everything you do on a daily basis! This challenge can help broaden the goals of your change.

You can challenge yourself to read more. Take a course to finish learning a language you have little knowledge of from school. Increase your networking skills by adding A social events once or twice a month to your schedule. Improve or increase your self value by making your “ideal self” a priority! Don’t just lose weight lose your negatives!

Just Smile ! Laugh! Repeat!

More often than not, we take for granted the simple things: laughing, smiling, walking with a strong posture, walking with our heads up!  The smallest of actions, the simplest of gestures, the bare necessities if u will.  Tiny advancements that send major ripples throughout our mental state.
Our mental state regulates much of what we do, especially: self perception, the drive to achieve our goals, and how we evaluate life experiences. If our state of mind is ill, then many other parts of our existence will suffer. One cannot expect to achieve new levels if their foundation is corrupt.

A big favor we all can do for ourselves is strengthen our foundations by bolstering our defenses against those things that would attack our mental state: Stress, doubt , confusion, outside criticism, feelings of entitlement.

So in short, don’t down yourself, nor let others down you. Even when it seems the most impossible to do so just smile, laugh, repeat!

When you think of mental fitness what is the first thing that comes to mind? Is it the capability to recall facts you’ve learned? To easily deal with stress? Well there are many “definitions” for mental fitness. The overall idea is using your mind to enhance all aspects of your life and using it to the fullest.

Mind Prep

When it comes to being fit physically one has to first be fit mentally or the most likely outcome will be failure or not reaching a set goal. With a fit mind comes a fit body. Being mentally fit is something that is easily seen. The co-worker you love to hate or aspire to be, the one who talks of their hectic schedule but you see eating healthy most of the time and they manage to have healthy relationships and be successful at work, and having good success overall, well that is what mental fitness does for you. Now, I am not saying being mentally fit is the end all be all, however if an end all be all exist I know one has to be mentally fit first to get there.

Achieving Strength

Hopefully you are that co-worker mentioned above, if not, don’t worry many of us aren’t. Try thinking about what being mentally fit means to you and what you can do to achieve it, or improve it! I mean you can never be too fit! And I promise if you are having trouble staying consistent in other aspects of your life like school, work, relationships, eating better, going to the gym, or something as simple as waking up on time, strengthening your mental fitness is one of the first and best steps you could make.

PJ Fitness Suspension Straps – Military Grade VS Home Grade (Review)

Though both of these suspensions seem exactly the same, let me explain some differences to you. First off, I’ll just be cliche and say the names and colors are different. The Military Grade straps comes in a military green and black, while the Home Kit comes in a gold and black color combo.

Eye Test:

After giving both straps the eye test, I see that the handles on the Home kit comes with a black foam grip and blue rubber stripes to give a soft and comfortable hold. Unlike the Home kit suspensions, the military grade suspensions comes with all black diamond ridged rubber handles which provide a more firm yet still comfortable grip.

After Testing:

Once we tested the suspension straps we found a few more “possible” differences. The military grade straps seem to have thicker woven straps. There are also the connecting metal clips. The home kit provides you with a lock on the main connecting clip, while the the military grade has a lock free clip. #SUSPENSIONSTRAPS

I am that athlete who is usually EXTREMELY tight before and after my workouts. Usually, I come home and I ask my wife to stretch me, but something unusual happened today. She told me, “NO”! She said “I thought when you purchased the Yoga Stretching Strap, I was relieved of all stretching duties!”

Working Hard v. Working Smart

“Work smart not hard!” We all hear this saying pretty often, and some of us hate to hear it because it sounds like “let’s take the easy route.” Luckily this isn’t the case for everyone who uses this saying. In some cases it means using the correct form when you workout to increase your progression, it means spending your time efficiently to keep a well balanced life,  keeping physically,  mentally, and spiritually balanced/strong to increase your positivity in life.

For instance, a great workout can be done in 30 minutes, but the intensity level has to almost double. If your not a skilled or informed gymrat spend more time doing your workouts to ensure your working “smart” and correctly improving your form and workouts. Remember everything you do is mental, which shows why we put our mind to goals in life. Keeping up with your spiritual well being can also assist in smart preparation due to the mental strength it creates.

In conclusion we all work for what we want in many different ways, but working “smart” just helps to keep all other aspects of your life in order while you strive for particular goals.
